NQT Induction Training 2018-19

This is the package training from the Wessex Group for NQTs, spanning the first year. As well as useful, informative and professionally delivered content, the NQTs are immediately part of a network of like-minded individuals who they are likely to meet again in their careers within and outside the Wessex Group of colleges. This network can be a great support group for them, especially in this first year.

Day 1: Now you are teaching! Including practical tips

  • Introduction to the network
  • Effective marking and feedback
  • Insight from a recent NQT
  • Look after your students and look after yourself too
  • Good ideas for delivering great teaching
  • Maximising time by working smart – realistic lesson planning

Day 2: Managing Classroom Behaviour delivered by highly-rated external trainer Andy Vass

Day 3: Students' Mental Wellbeing

To look at outward practicalities and inward processing in the moment, and after, when an education professional encounters a mental health situation

Day 4: What lies ahead?

  • Professional reflection – how to keep it up
  • Career and professional development
  • Panel Q&A

Booking must be done via your college Staff Development Officer asap and at latest by the closing date of Thursday, 11th October 2018.  Joining instructions and confirmation of a place will take place soon after that date. The charge for the package of 4 sessions is £90 per head.
