It is not possible to book this scheduled event for one of the following reasons:
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner would like to invite student voice representatives from all the colleges in the Wessex Group to meet with us and other university and college leads, so we can further develop and enhance partnership working in our locality, through a regular meeting.
We know that the student population for further and higher education can be specifically targeted by criminals, not only for theft but the developing area of fraud, such as money mules. In addition, some students turn to illegal routes to gain funds to pay for their tuition and fees, for example the sex trade. In turn students can change the demographics of an area and have an impact upon local communities. We would like to gain their views on crimes and feelings of safety and hear directly what the issues students are facing around policing and crime in order to explore solutions to address them.
The group have met a couple of times now, and would love to have a representative from more Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth colleges along to our next meeting, which will be taking place at Winchester University on October 22nd from 11.30am-1pm.
We hope you will be able to join us.
Please book through your Staff Development Officer so that the Wessex Group can provide a list of Wessex attendees.
