Student Governor Training 2020-2021 : Day 1

Training Course

This two part course is for new or fairly new College Student Governors. Delegates will be covering a range of topics to help them fulfil their role of Student Governor and strengthen their ‘student voice’. It also creates an opportunity to meet students in similar situations and form a network for further sharing of ideas and experience beyond the structured sessions.

Session one:
- understand the formal framework, responsibilities and structures around Governance
- consider essential meeting skills: such as listening, asking questions and body language

Session two: date tba
- delegates to explore their experience and provide opportunities to build their skills for engagement, leadership and governance in areas of their choosing

These topics will be led by specialist trainers Unloc, with additional contributions from experienced governance professionals.
This course is suitable for delegates from all types of college governance structures.

The fee for this training course is between £60-£90 per delegate to cover costs, depending on uptake (this will be covered by participating colleges).

Booking must be done via your college Staff Development Officer.
Closing date for bookings is Friday 16th October 2020.
